Musket Autopilot
Your AI assistant, available on every page.
1 Overview
Musket Autopilot is a built-in AI assistant that can answer questions about Musket in plain language. It is available on every page and is aware of which screen you are currently viewing, allowing it to give focused answers without needing extra context from you.
What you can ask
- How to complete a task on the current page
- What a field, status, or button means
- How a workflow works across multiple screens
- Where to find a specific setting or feature
How it works
- Answers are drawn from the Musket documentation
- The assistant knows which page you are on
- Conversation history is kept for the duration of your session
- History is cleared when you close or reset the conversation
2 Opening and closing
Musket Autopilot appears as a small microchip icon button fixed to the top-right of the screen. Select it to open the Autopilot panel. The panel slides in from the right side of the screen and remains open while you work.
- To open the panel: select the microchip icon in the top-right corner.
- To close the panel: select the close (×) button in the panel header.
The panel stays open as you navigate between pages. Your conversation is preserved until you clear it or close the browser tab.
3 Asking a question
Type your question in the input area at the bottom of the panel and press Enter or select the send button ().
While a response is generating
Animated dots appear while Musket Autopilot is preparing an answer. The input is disabled during this time. A status badge may appear showing what the assistant is doing (for example, searching the documentation). If you need to cancel a long-running response, select the Stop button () that appears in place of the send button.
Page context
When you are on a named Musket screen, the panel header shows a "Viewing: [page name]" badge. This tells you that Musket Autopilot is aware of the page you are on and will tailor its answers accordingly. A book icon () next to the badge opens the documentation page for the current screen in a new tab.
4 Connection status
A small indicator in the panel header shows the connection state:
- Online (green dot): the assistant is ready to receive questions.
- Connecting... (grey dot): the panel is establishing or re-establishing its connection.
If the connection drops (for example, after a period of inactivity or a brief network interruption), Musket Autopilot automatically attempts to reconnect. You do not need to refresh the page. While reconnecting, the send button is disabled. Once the status returns to Online, you can continue asking questions normally.
If the panel shows Connecting... for an extended period, check your network connection and try refreshing the page. If the issue persists, contact support.
5 Managing your conversation
Two header buttons help you manage the conversation:
- Clear conversation (): removes all messages and resets the panel to the initial greeting. Use this to start a new topic.
- Contact Support (): opens the Contact Support panel with your current conversation history automatically attached as a document. The attachment uploads in the background as soon as the panel opens — a progress bar appears briefly, then the file is shown as already attached. This button appears once you have sent at least one message. See Contact Support for more detail on the support request process.
