7 Feature reference

7.1 Active operators table

The Active operators table shows all third-party maintenance organisations currently available for selection across the system. This is the default view when you open the page.

The table is sorted alphabetically by company name. If there are more than 15 operators, pagination controls appear at the bottom of the table. You can adjust the number of items per page using the dropdown above the table (15, 30, or 60 items per page).

7.2 Deactivated operators table

The Deactivated operators table shows all third-party operators that have been removed from active use. Access this view by selecting the Deactivated radio button at the top centre of the page.

8 Rules and validations

8.1 Permission requirements

Access to the 3rd Party Operators page is controlled by maintenance permissions. Users must have the appropriate third-party operators permission to view and manage this page.

8.2 Data validation

The following validation rules apply when adding or editing operators:

Validation Rules
  • Company name is required: You cannot save an operator without a company name
  • Unique names: While not strictly enforced, duplicate operator names may cause confusion
  • Email format: Email addresses are validated for proper format if provided

9 Troubleshooting

9.1 Empty search results

Issue: "There are no active 3rd party operators for your search terms" appears even when you know operators exist.

Causes:

  • Search term doesn't match any operator names
  • All matching operators are deactivated
  • Search is case-sensitive to special characters

Solutions: Clear the search field to show all operators, or switch to the Deactivated view to check if the operator was deactivated. Try searching with partial names or different spelling.

9.2 Cannot save operator

Issue: Save button doesn't respond or shows an error.

Causes:

  • Company name field is empty (required field)
  • Email format is invalid if provided
  • Network connection issue

Solutions: Ensure the company name is filled in. Check email format if provided. Verify your network connection and try again.

9.3 Missing operators in dropdowns

Issue: An operator doesn't appear in dropdown menus on other pages (e.g., aircraft association).

Cause: The operator is deactivated.

Solution: Switch to the Deactivated view on this page and reactivate the operator using the green Activate button.
